Founded in 2002, Mike Browning and Veronica Barclay launched Barclay & Browning Wines, based in Middletown, CA, specializing in Lake County Zinfandel. President, Michael J. Browning

Originally from Chicago, Mike Browning owned trucking and transportation businesses, before deciding to settle in Napa Valley in 1988. He is President of Bettinelli Vineyards and Wine Company in St. Helena, and a partner in Rutherford Vista and Pope Valley Vista vineyard properties.

In the year 2000, Mike bought the Diamond D Ranch - also known as Middletown Farm and Cattle Company - a 7500 acre Lake County ranch, and now permanently resides there with his wife and six kids. He divides his time between his Angus cattle - “ridin’, ropin', and brandin',” - and promoting Lake County agriculture with family and Middletown neighbors. He recently cleared 27 acres and intends to plant Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Zinfandel

VP, General Manager, Veronica Barclay

Veronica Barclay has been in the wine business since 1980. Her background includes positions in marketing and sales operations with Simi, Chateau St. Jean, and Rombauer Vineyards. In 1992, she opened Barclay & Company, a wine marketing consulting firm based in St. Helena, CA. Mike Browning was her first client, and the two have “partnered up” ever since. She is VP and General Manager of Barclay & Browning Wines, member of the Society of Wine Educators, and conducts the Advanced Tasting Room Strategies Conference and Trade Show in Sonoma County each year. If you visit Middletown Farm & Cattle Company, don’t be surprised if you find her there “horsing around” with her 35-year-old gelding, “Pacer.” She'll be happy to hook up “Hercules, the Clydesdale and take you for a scenic drive around the ranch.
